Frequently asked questions
Gausevak Foundation - FAQ
- 01Your support goes directly towards feeding, sheltering, and caring for cows in need. We also help Gau Shalas with medical expenses, fodder, and maintaining a safe environment for Gau Mata.
- 02Yes, all donations are processed securely, and you will automatically receive a receipt via email after payment.
- 03Yes! You can choose to support Gau Mata weekly, monthly, or annually. Even a small recurring seva makes a big difference in sustaining daily care.
- 04Absolutely. Volunteers help with Gau Puja events, visiting shelters, feeding cows, organizing cleanups, and school awareness programs. You can sign up on our Volunteer page.
- 05In our tradition, the extra “1” is called Shagun. A round number feels complete and closed, but adding “1” makes it ongoing, like infinity. It symbolizes that seva and blessings should always continue and grow endlessly.
- 06Gausevak Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) approved nonprofit organization. All support received is used solely for the care, protection, and lifelong well-being of the cows.
- 07Yes, visitors are welcome to visit Gausevak Sanctuary by appointment. We encourage supporters and well-wishers to spend time with our rescued cows, learn about Gau Seva, and experience their gentle, peaceful energy. As the sanctuary is still developing, all visits are guided and require prior scheduling to ensure the comfort and safety of our cows. Please contact us to plan your visit and join us in serving and connecting with Gau Mata in a serene environment.
- 08We currently care for 6 Indian native breeds and 1 Jersey cow. All are treated with the same care and dignity, with no distinction. Our focus is protection and lifelong well-being, not breed or productivity.
- 09Yes, Jersey cows produce A2 milk, which is easier to digest and closer to traditional milk.
- 10Every cow is unique, yet all cows share the same gentle and loving nature. While breeds may differ in size, color, or milk type, their hearts are equally kind. Some cows may appear more energetic or cautious due to their environment, but none are naturally aggressive. At our Gaushala, we celebrate the beauty and innocence of every cow, regardless of breed.
- 11At Gausevak Foundation Inc, we treat all our cows with the same love and respect. Every cow deserves equal care. At the same time, we recognize that female cows may need gentler handling and occasional special attention for their health, and we provide that with compassion.
- 12What makes Gausevak Sanctuary different is that we do not see cows as resources, projects, or property. They are not bred, milked, sold, or moved for human benefit. Every decision is guided by safety, dignity, and lifelong care. We work slowly, with presence, respecting each cow’s nature and trauma, and we limit human interference as much as possible. This is not a place of control or productivity, but of responsibility and protection. Our work is simple — to stand by Gau Mata without expectation, and serve through quiet, daily seva. In service of Gau Mata 🙏🏼
Your seva keeps Gau Mata safe, nourished, and loved. Thank you for being part of this sacred service.
